SOS (Save Our Sons) was established to address the low male achievement factors of Black and Latino males while linking mentoring and training programs servicing male youth, ages 9 and up and their families. The ultimate goal is to provide world class training to all those who play a vital role in the lives of young males, establish mentorship opportunities and create lifelong partnerships to overcome the failing support systems of these young men.
The Overtown Youth Center, one of many Alonzo Mourning charities, was built in hopes of creating a safe haven for the children in Overtown. Opening in early 2003, the Overtown Youth Center (OYC) located in the heart of Miami's inner city has already changed the lives of many kids, and the amount of change keeps on growing!

The center integrates academic and entertaining activities in a safe environment, working with children, families, and schools from grade 2 to graduation. The Youth Center offers in-school, after-school, weekend, and summer programs that include academic enhancement, physical fitness, health care and nutrition, creative arts, prevention, character-building, and family-oriented activities, including parent orientation.
PCS Event Productions will soon be working with the center again, at their very own It’s All Overtown, One Night... One World, a premier annual gala fundraiser to benefit the Overtown Youth Center, July 19th at the Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne.
